Shamrocks grow in Europe, America and the British Isles--especially
Ireland. The shamrock plants are associated with Ireland, the Irish
and Saint Patrick. Shamrocks are many different plants, but the
three-leafed part always looks the same. Four-leafed shamrocks (or
clover) are considered very lucky.
The dictionary defines shamrocks as:
...a cloverlike plant with a triple leaf; the symbol of Ireland.
