welcome to Inner Worlds

Inner Worlds is one of many classic subsites at Pacoima Ranch. It's been online continuously since 1996, nearly a full year before the formal unveiling of Pacoima Ranch. Originally emplaced online as a 3D game, it's being carefully regraphicked in glorious Web3D (VRML) and can be viewed as a game, or as a tour-de-force, your choice.

Did you ever wonder what the various places looked like that are mentioned in The Whitebook? Now you can take a virtual reality tour of those places.

Because it takes months to finish each level, not all of Inner Worlds is done yet, but the parts that are done are available for public viewing. Avoid unfinished levels, you'll merely wind up at our 404 page. At this time, Lower Caves, Emily's House, and Middle Caves - Dark City are finished.

The following are bits and pieces of what will become Upper Caves and the Conference Center. These are very large worlds with many smaller partially-contained subworlds. Leaving the "exit" or "entrance" of them may show odd things used to align them in the final version, but as long as you stay "inside" they are more-or-less complete. More will be posted as they're completed.

You'll need a VRML plugin to do either of the above choices, Contact is suggested. Because so many people have been wondering how to have both the Blaxxun Chat (via Contact 5.1) and the superior graphics and X3D support of Bitmanagment (via Contact 6.x), the following is offered. It's technically a hack (you have been warned), but it does work. Install Blaxxun 5.1 first. This will install all the chat software. Next install Bitmanagement's newer Contact 6.x in a different directory.

If for some reason the install looks good, but you don't get 6.x support (ie, only 5.1 runs), use RegCtrls from Rodent Software. After installation, select File...Register File from the topmenu. Browse to the Bitmanagment folder (probably C:\Program Files\Bitmanagement Software\BS Contact VRML\) and select the JoyStickPlugIn.dll, blaxxunVRML.tlb, bsContactVRML.ocx, and blaxxuncc3d.tlb files. Reboot your box and all should be well.
