The Row House Street Scene above is a classic image from 1998 and very
suitable as a top graphic. It was the last of the "classic city noir"
style graphics to come out of London. The sample above shows all of
the basic permutations of this graphic, ("home", "vacant" and badly
coded on-the-fly resizing). Many of these graphics were jointly hunted
down by the Community Webmaster
and Captain Derelict. All are believed to be in the public domain
after being abandoned by their former users. A separate window will
open when you click the links.
Map 1
GIF
Boring and dreary--a typical example of the graphics done by New
York. With the exception of the "Smurf Village" graphic, all graphics
during this period were similarly dismal and signalled the implosion
of this formerly grand cybercity.
Map Black GIF
Kicky and funky in the "classic city noir" style. This graphic was
seen by virtually all Citizens during 1996-1998. One of many beautiful
graphics done on Macintoshes by London. Popularly known as the Grand
Central Station map.
Small Hall GIF
The small version of the beautiful 3D-style graphics used to ornament
the Mayor's Office during the Democracy Period (1996-1999). The
Mayor's Office was "suspended" as the final move by New York during
the palace coup of 1998.
Minister HQ JPG
Not commonly known by most Citizens, but very familiar to all
Ministers. This graphic decorated both the Ministers Headquarters and
the Halls Of Power. While not officially supported since mid 2000, the
Ministers program wasn't formally "suspended" 'til a December 27, 2000
notice was received.
Map Black JPG
An alternate version of Map Black GIF (see above). Originally used
during a "commercial sponsor tie in" campaign.
City Scene GIF
One of many graphics used to illustrate a commercial tie in as part
of the "crime alley story". Graphics in this style are loosely called
"urban slum".
City Hall GIF
The large version of the City Hall graphic. Used during the
now-suspended Democracy Period.
Casino GIF
Another graphic from the "crime alley story" commercial tie in. The
graphic is erroneously labled "anim" even though it is not
animated.
Diner GIF
A drive-in graphic used as part of the "crime alley story" commercial
tie in. Again, no business names are evident anywhere in this one.
Business Street
Scene
This is the last version of the "business" Street Scene from 1999.
Carefully restored from damaged original graphics and coding as the
Walk Of Fame.
